Mitragyna beautiful

What is Kratom?

Kratom, whose official name is Mitragyna speciosa, arrived here from Southeast Asia. The most common occurrence of this plant is mainly in Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Kratom holds a special place among herbal products thanks to its unique combination of alkaloids. Many plants contain alkaloids - caffeine in coffee or theophylline in tea - but mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine are found exclusively in the kratom tree. It is this dynamic alkaloid duo that has made kratom a popular botanical in the West.

TYPES OF KRATOM

What are the differences in the types of kratom?

Kratom is divided into three main groups – white kratom, green kratom and red kratom. Recently, the very popular yellow or gold kratoms have also appeared on the market, however, these are only differences in processing, not the original species.

In general, the difference in the color and properties of kratom is related to the age of the plant. White kratom is a young plant, green kratom is a maturing plant, and red kratom is a fully matured adult plant. As the plant matures, varying levels of alkaloids are produced in the leaves, which affect the properties of kratom.

EFFECT

What effects does it have on the body?

Mitragynine and its metabolite 7-hydroxymitragynine are believed to be responsible for the effects of kratom. At low doses, the plant produces a mild stimulant effect, while at higher doses the sedation and antinociceptionpci typical of opioids occur. Concentrations of mitragynine and other alkaloids in kratom have been found to vary between different varieties of the plant, suggesting strain-specific effects from consumption as well.
